Big Sunday - May 14th and 15th

This is part of an awesome project. That's community spirit! Join us as we clean, plant, and beautify this great community. Volunteers will meet at El Centro Del Pueblo.

Time Banker, Katie Bachler invites you to pitch in on project #219 - Do Some Eco-Landscaping With the Watts House Project
Saturday, May 2nd from 10AM-2PM at 1758 E 107th St, Los Angeles, 90002
The Watts House Project does great work beautifying the historic area in Watts. Big Sunday volunteers will join forces with artist Edgar Arceneaux to do “eco-landscaping,” water management and rebuilding in the shadow of the landmark Watts Tower. While we work and repair this sorely neglected block, we’ll also be throwing a party with a team of filmmakers, musicians, landscapers and architects. Be prepared to dig, plant, pave and party!

Time Banker, Gretchen Zalkind invites you to help with project #180 - Build a Learning Garden at the Thomas Starr King Middle School
Sunday, May 3nd from 10:00AM-4:00PM at 4201 Fountain Avenue Los Angeles, CA, 90029. Work planned includes planting the new learning and sensory garden, murals, planting fruit trees, spring cleaning, painting the Fountain Avenue entry breezeway. We will also have a "recycled fashion" store, a book exchange, a children's play/safe space, a health and wellness fair, community outreach booths, a live band, and healthy food. In Partnership with Farm Feliz (www.farmfeliz.org). For more info or ways to help contact Dana Cremin, project Captain at danajoy@creminfamily.com or Tomas O Grady, at Tomasogrady@sbcglobal.net.
